What does this mean " Possess a strong background in Internet Banking or IT " ?
There is a position for an Internet Banking Representative in some bank in my country & this is what they wrote.
" Possess a strong background in Internet Banking or IT.
Solid understanding of Internet Banking product including marketing trends and techniques. "
What does it mean exactly ? do I need to be a network geek or a database freak or something similar ?
PS: I’m thinking of applying if its ok.
Regards

You don’t need to be a network or database guy, you need to understand how internet banking works.

Internet banking is online banking. You should be familiar with computers so you can set customers up online by imputing their data and having them setup a password into the bank’s main computer. You should be familiar with how customer’s can look up their account information, do password resets if the customer gets locked out of their account online, and be familiar with showing customers how to pay their bills online. You should be able to open accounts, order checks, and send ordinary e-mail.
